We would like to request a system enhancement that sets all children’s attendance status to “Absent” by default each day, until they are actively checked in by staff.

Purpose/Use Case:

This would help ensure more accurate attendance tracking by minimizing missed check-ins and providing a clear starting point for the day. It also aligns with licensing and reporting needs in some states, where absence tracking is required.

Requested Functionality:

At the start of each day, all children should be marked as "Absent" by default.

Once a child is checked in, the system should automatically update their status from "Absent" to "Present" with a timestamp.

Ideally, this default setting could be enabled or disabled at the program level, depending on preference.
